Celebrating 10 Years of Growth: A Decade of Creekmore Marketing

It's hard to believe that it has already been ten years since Creekmore Marketing opened its doors. In that time, the company has grown from a small startup to a thriving business with a reputation for excellence in marketing. As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we want to reflect on our journey and our achievements along the way. Join us as we look back at the last ten years of Creekmore Marketing and the exciting things still to come.

The Beginning

For Chelsea, family and entrepreneurship go hand in hand. Her grandfather bought and sold businesses, while her father created a window treatment company of his own called Stamper's. She grew up watching them both work hard and create something new to support them and their family.

 

Chelsea wanted to follow in their footsteps.

 

A year before starting Creekmore, Chelsea was helping Stamper's with their marketing efforts, which resulted in Stamper's having their first-ever $1 million year! Along the process, she saw the opportunity she had been looking for— an area where she could thrive and help people like her parents. She would open her own marketing agency.

 

While working with Stamper's, she saw all the areas where local, family businesses weren't having marketing success simply because they needed someone to guide them who understood what they were going through. With the experience of working at Stamper's all her life, she set off to begin her journey.

Early Growth

Chelsea's first client was her parent's window treatment company. With her footing in place, the company began to flourish and grow. She talked with folks all over Lexington: plumbers, real estate businesses, local car dealerships, and other small businesses. For all intents and purposes, it looked like Creekmore Marketing would be strictly Lexington-based.

 

But then something magic happened.

 

Chelsea signed her second window treatment company. With the signing, it crystallized something in her. She realized that she still wanted to focus on small businesses but that window treatment companies specifically would make a brilliant fit. She could continue her family's legacy while still creating something of her own.

Growing Pains

Like all new businesses, the path forward was a challenging one. Despite having a solid start, there were two major hurdles with pitching marketing services to small businesses:

 

  1. Small business owners are rarely operating with a high enough profit margin to afford big marketing services.
  2. You have to teach what digital marketing is before you can truly sell people on its worth.

 

Chelsea soon found that many small businesses didn't want to partner with a company where they'd just be one in a dozen. Small businesses have specific needs that can't afford to be lost in the multitudes.

 

Early on, convincing people that it's worth being on Google was challenging. But she learned and grew through this, all while maintaining the motivation that started the company. These hardships paved the way for what makes Creekmore Marketing an excellent fit for small businesses:

 

  • Robust marketing team well-versed in small businesses.
  • No long-term contracts.
  • Bottom-line driven results. No fluff, no bullshit.

Enter Creekmore today as we close in on our 10-year anniversary! We're proud to have clients across 48 states and Canada (and one single one in Ireland 🇮🇪). We've grown to the biggest team that we've ever had, and just last year had our most profitable year to date!


Where we have grown larger than Kentucky, we still love our home and try to stay close to our roots. We bring the same small-business mindset and locality to businesses across the world.

 

But what's next?

Creekmore Tomorrow

After ten years, we do want to reaffirm our love for our home here in Kentucky (with the majority of our company being UK Wildcats, Kentucky is an easy thing to love). Over the next decade, we want to grow our footprint and the economy in our home state.

 

Creekmore has always been focused on doing what's best for our clients, be it big or small. AI has been a hot topic and one that we’ve been keeping a close eye on! We will always strive to be on the cutting edge of providing as much value as possible to our small businesses and their families. Lastly, there are always new services we're excited to explore. The marketing world is ever-evolving, and we plan to grow with it.
