Tell us a little bit about your experience speaking at Birdeye View 2024.
It was an honor to be selected to speak at Birdeye View 2024. I’ve spent the last three years working to become an expert in Birdeye. Since I took over the department and rebuilt it, Creekmore Marketing has become one of Birdeye’s top partners. Knowing that my work has allotted Creekmore the opportunity to be a thought leader worldwide when it comes to being an agency selling Birdeye is such an incredible feeling.
Tell us about you and your role within Creekmore Marketing.
As the head of the Amplify and Interactions department, I create all our clients' accounts in Birdeye. Creating client accounts means I set up templates, build integrations, use their logo and branding to adjust their accounts to their needs, register them for 10DLC, and then give them personalized training so they can fit the platform into the needs of their business without making many changes.
Once a client is kicked off, I monitor their usage and work with the account managers to ensure it stays high. I give tips and tricks on how clients can improve their platform use. In addition to running the Birdeye department, I manage some of Creekmore’s larger clients that need deep data analysis.
What are some things that help you be successful in your role? What motivates you?
At my core, I’m an innovator, or as I like to call it, I’m lazily efficient. I have always taken a task that may take an hour and then spent two hours, one time to shorten it into something that only takes 30 minutes when I have to do it again. This approach has helped me save so much time over the years.
I’m also a perpetual student. I love learning and expanding my knowledge, even past what my role entails. I would rather learn how to do something myself than have to ask other people consistently. Questions are just opportunities.
I’m motivated by always wanting to be better and helping clients grow. My family was very poor growing up, and my dad worked hard to teach himself how to be a full-stack web developer until he created his own business, helping to make my sister and me first-generation college graduates. I’ve seen firsthand how much a thriving small business can impact a family, and I love seeing the clients I work with have those winning moments.
How do you approach building a trusting relationship with clients?
I have always joked that I know I have won a client over if I can make them laugh. While that’s always a good first step, I like to build trust by ensuring I understand a client's wants and needs as well as their strengths and weaknesses. Knowing that and helping them navigate their digital marketing strategy while focusing on it goes a long way to earning trust. It allows clients to feel seen and heard, not like another cog in the wheel .
What are two things business owners can do to help their marketing campaign be successful?
Reviews, reviews, reviews! We’ve heard it 1000 times, but reviews are so important to ensure you rank highly on Google and that customers truly follow through with your business. I look at the reviews whenever I search for a company on Google. If the business hasn’t gotten a review in a long time, has very few reviews, has a low star rating, doesn’t respond to reviews, or responds unprofessionally, I’ll skip past that business.
Having a good website is another must-have. The website is the foundation of a good marketing campaign. If you have a poorly built website without the current trends, not only will you not rank highly on Google, but your paid ads won’t be successful either. Even if you were to somehow get good traffic from your paid ads with a bad site, your conversion would suffer because of that bad site.
What are the most frequently asked questions you get about Creekmore's services?
The question I get asked the most is what Amplify + Interactions is. I wish it were a simple answer, but the best way to describe it is customer relation management (CRM) on a lot of steroids. It takes what you should be doing to grow your business and makes it easier: getting reviews, communicating with clients, capturing leads, and more.
What exciting things are you doing to help clients stay ahead of the competition in 2024?
There will be new AI features to help clients monitor their customers’ experiences and business even more!
What do you wish people knew about your job?
I wish people knew how easy the service can be to use and how important it is to do so. So many clients struggle to get reviews, and they’re incredibly important for search engine optimization (SEO). Amplify + Interactions makes it easy.
What is your favorite service we offer?
My favorite service we offer is web design in combination with content. Having a good website with good content sets the foundation for the rest of your digital marketing; without it, the rest of our services would have little impact.
What's your favorite thing about Creekmore?
My favorite thing about Creekmore is the community. We work hard to develop meaningful relationships with our clients and co-workers, making for an incredible work environment.
Tell us a little about you. Outside of work, what are your interests and hobbies?
I’ve been a musician since I was four years old and have even performed at Carnegie Hall. I play piano, trumpet, guitar, flugelhorn, and sing. I’ve been working slowly toward learning the accordion as well. I’m a big reader, and I love working on cars. My current project car is a 1971 Volkswagon Super Beetle.
